The best way is to find a mosque. Normally at weekends the Aalim or Shaikh will read a few Ayah of the holy Quran and then explain. The explanation will cover the context in which the Ayah was sent, it's explanation and it's significance in todays society. Another excellent place to look is Peace TV
Most muslims like myself were born into Islam. This means we take it for granted and don't hold the values like we should. Like most things in life if you want to find the true value of something then ask the person who does not have eg. a blind person will sight more. Or you can say when we search for something we value it more and when we get something for free we don't hold as much value.
it's best to speak to a learned new convert who who can explain much better because he/she undertstands your perspective. Most of all it's a constant battle against Shaytan and our own nafs (inner desires) - And the best way to win is with the help of ALLAH (subhan nahu wata aala).
We should say 'Aoozu Billaahi minashaytaan-nirajeem' and strive to become better both in knowledge and practice. |
